Interview in Our Office!

It’s almost spring! Well, not really, but it’s less than 8 weeks away! While you might be thinking about sun, the start of baseball season (Go Cubs! Go Brewers!) and outdoor festivals, if you are a junior or senior, you might also want to start thinking about what you will do come June.

Career Services is here to help! I’m Kristin Finn and I am the Employer Relations Manager, which means I have the fun job of connecting employers with MU students! I also coordinate the on-campus recruiting program and administer MU Career Manager, the website where you can upload your resume, look for jobs and sign up for interviews.

We have 45 employers scheduled to come to campus for on-campus interviews for full-time and internship positions and they want to meet you! Sign up for an MU Career Manager account today by going to our website and click on the big green box on the right! If you need assistance, stop by our office during walk-in hours (weekdays, 12pm-2pm), call the office (288-7423) or email me. Hope to see you soon!

We're #5!!!

No, not these guys. At least not yet...

No, in this case we're talking about good old Milwaukee. Forbes recently came out with a list of the top 10 cities for job growth in 2009, and our home checks in at number 5! As they point out, there's a ton of health care, energy, and environmental companies moving to the area and hiring people. And hopefully those people include you!

Wisconsin overall fared pretty well in their analysis, with the two biggest cities in the state being ranked in the top 5. Definitely good news for all you job seekers out there.

If you're open to relocation, take a look at the whole list. I'd personally recommend #4, my hometown, but I may be a little biased. There's really no bad option though, with a variety of metropolitan areas throughout the country represented on the list.

Welcome!

Welcome to the Career Services Blog!

Be sure to check in regularly as we update with insights about the job search process, information about upcoming events, employer spotlights, and many more topics! Our goal is to provide information in a quick and easy manner to our students and alumni. Let us know what you’d like to read about and we can even include that.

Of course, you can find us in person as well on the first floor of Holthusen Hall on campus. We're open Monday through Friday from 8am until 5pm. Meet with a counselor, interview with employers, take one of classes, come to walk-in hours (12-2 each day for resumes!), or just drop in and say hi!
